Delta Sierra Aviation was started by Dan Shaw out of a shared hangar in 2018 out of The Colombia Gorge Regional Airport (KDLS) with a single Cessna 150 aircraft with the goal of providing flight testing of aerial payloads for a remote sensing company.

DSA has since  expanded operations and now operates out of multiple hangars with a fleet of 3 aircraft and consists of a team of several commercial pilots, flight instructors, technicians and mechanics.  DSA still specializes in aerial payload testing (aerial platforming) as well as Chase Plane services, Instrument Approach Testing, and Flight Instruction
